For a day of action-packed adventure, breathtaking landscapes and family fun
We would like to invite all mountain bike enthusiasts from rookies to veterans, plus their families, to join us on the Buffet Olives Mountain Bike Classic. This, our 2nd ever spectacular mountain bike race will take place on Sunday, the 31st October 2010, on the Buffet Olives Estate situated in the foothills of the Drakenstein Mountains in Paarl.
The course is challenging yet exhilarating, with a choice of a 15km, a 25km and a 45km race for mountain bikers, as well as a 5km kiddies route. |

Starting amongst olive groves and easy farm roads
for the first 6km, you will be well warmed up by the
time you hit the first climb on this varied and
spectacular course. From the top of this climb, the
Short Route will wind its way back down a section of
single track, with another small hill thrown in for good
measure before the finish.
The Long & Medium Routes continue on forest roads
with spectacular views and down hills with good
doses of single track. The Medium Route returns to
the finish, whereas the Long Route continues along
the Klein Drakenstein mountain slopes before
heading home on this challenging, but captivating
course.
There is also an easy 5km loop amongst the olive
groves and spectators are welcome to picnic under
the trees and watch the fun. There will be food for
sale and jumping castles for the children. |

Spectators and families can enjoy a picnic under the Olive trees (scrumptious Picnic hampers on sale packed full of yummy goodies) with tractor rides and a jumping castle for our younger enthusiasts. There will also be loads of great food and beer/wine and Buffet Olives will have their full range of olives for tasting.

Take the N1 in the direction of Paarl.
Just before the Huguenot tunnel tollgates, take the R101 (Swawelstert) off-ramp.
Turn left & proceed straight over two stop streets.
Drive 2km before turning right into Swawelstert Road.
Drive for 1,5km until you see the Buffet Olives sign.
Turn right onto a gravel road and look out for the Parking signs to your right! |
